The standard way of educating children has always and will be Classroom learning because of its tremendous advantages despite the availability of options like homeschooling with the advancements in technology. What are the key benefits of classroom learning? And why do we sometimes fail to see these benefits materialize?
i. The Teacher Can Read The Students
A teacher can better interpret the student’s body language and tone of voice when they’re in the same room together. A child asked to read and work on workbooks alone without any assistance; nobody would observe the struggles faced by the student on a problem. A child flipping through slides in an online presentation isn’t getting any feedback at all until they fail the online quiz. Thus, the teachers play a significant role.
Teachers who are present and conscientious can engage with children as they start to struggle so they don’t waste time trying to figure out something subsequently they don’t give up on the subject altogether. However, this requires having a teacher who cares about the kids instead of sticking with the lesson plan and has the time and resources to work with children individually.

A child reluctant to answer due to erratophobia may also pick up on the enthusiasm that others have for the subject, making them more interested. Group lessons and activities emphasize the contents taught in class which thus benefits in building the child’s overall social skills.
iii. They Learn How to Deal with Gaps in Their Knowledge
In a classroom environment, your child is one of ten to forty students supervised by the teacher. This can moderate their ego. It also makes it safe to make mistakes, because everyone missed a few questions on the test or gave a wrong answer in the class discussion.
They learn to ask the teacher or others what the right answer is and they learn how to deal with the temporary disappointment of being wrong. That is better for their long-term self-esteem than making them think that they’re never wrong because minimizing mistakes or hiding them outright leads kids to blame others for their own failings.

When a child is homeschooled or tutored, they are typically the center of attention, that is, they are the ones catered to. They may receive a workbook or online lecture, and that’s it, they have the full leverage and independence regarding breaks as they’d like. Whereas, classes follow a set schedule and while children may receive assistance once in a while, they have to take responsibility for themselves.
They need to bring books and other supplies to school. They have to show up on time and deal with work in a specific time allotted. And failure to do these things leads to consequences. It is essential for children to learn these lessons early in life, because your child won’t be able to function in a workplace when they think they can arrive whenever they like and refuse tasks until they’re in the mood. And they might fail at work if they can’t get their act together.

Classroom learning can be modified with new & simple technology which is available widely in the market today. This helps keeping the traditional classroom environment intact while topping it up with some modern ways of learning.
