In this edition of "Shine with Class Saathi," we had the pleasure of interviewing Mrs. Ramya, a passionate teacher from Sri Lakshmi Janardhan International School. Join us as we delve into her inspiring journey, teaching strategies, and how Class Saathi transformed her classroom.

Interviewer: Hi Mrs. Ramya! It’s a pleasure to have you with us. You’ve been in the teaching profession for 17 years now, which is incredible! Can you tell us a bit about your journey?

Mrs. Ramya: Thank you! Yes, I’ve been teaching for 17 years now. I’m an English teacher for 2nd graders at Sri Lakshmi Janardhan International School in Udupi. My specialisation is actually in Computer Science, but over time I found my passion in teaching English to young children.

Interviewer: Wow, that’s a fascinating shift! What inspired you to choose teaching?

Mrs. Ramya: Honestly, I opted for teaching seeking stability, but I’ve come to love the comfort and little perks that come with the profession. I enjoy the interaction with kids and the ability to shape young minds, and every day is a new challenge that keeps me motivated.

Interviewer: Speaking of challenges, could you share any challenging situations as a school teacher that you have faced?

Mrs. Ramya: One of the most challenging aspects of teaching English is that many children think they already know everything about the language. This makes it hard to keep them engaged. I often have to find creative ways to spark their interest, especially when teaching grammar or vocabulary. Making the subject exciting can be a challenge, but it’s also where I’ve found the most reward.

Interviewer: Technology really has become a vital part of education, and we know you have been using Class Saathi in your classroom. How has it helped you and your students?

Mrs. Ramya: Class Saathi has been a game-changer! One feature I love is the Saathi Genie, where I can create curriculum aligned questions and also add relevant images to the questions. It makes the lessons so much more appealing and exciting for the students in the classrooms. They learn a lot better through visuals. Plus, revision has become much easier. . Sometimes kids can be lazy about writing answers, and with Class Saathi, I can keep them engaged without making it feel like a chore. It’s really been a blessing, especially for language teachers like me.

Interviewer: That sounds amazing ma’am! How do you feel Class Saathi supports your role as an English teacher?

Mrs. Ramya: It helps in so many ways! For one, the interactive features make the learning environment more dynamic. Children can participate actively, and as a teacher, I find it easier to monitor their progress. Also, using visuals makes the learning process much more effective, especially for younger students who grasp things better through pictures and interactive elements.

Interviewer: And what about the challenges you face with students today?

Mrs. Ramya: One of the biggest challenges is that students these days are more stressed and physically less active. They’re glued to screens and often lack the energy they used to have. Class Saathi helps me combat that by keeping the classroom environment lively and engaging. It lightens the mood, and the students enjoy learning more. They stay focused without feeling overwhelmed.

Interviewer: It’s great to hear how you’re using technology to create a better learning experience. Lastly, what advice would you give to other teachers looking to make their classrooms more engaging?

Mrs. Ramya: I would say, don’t be afraid to embrace new tools like Class Saathi. Technology can really transform the way we teach and engage students. It makes learning fun, interactive, and easier to manage, especially when dealing with the unique challenges of today’s classrooms. And for me, it’s all about making the learning process exciting for the kids—that’s where the magic happens!

Interviewer: Thank you so much, Mrs. Ramya, for sharing your story! It’s inspiring to see how Class Saathi is helping teachers like you shine in the classroom.
