Mr. Anand Rajkumar: Sparking Curiosity and Ethics in Science Education
March 13, 2025

Meet Mr. Anand Rajkumar, a passionate Science teacher at Kenbridge School, Kalaburagi. With a deep love for learning and a strong belief in ethical education, he is shaping the future of his students. In this exclusive conversation, he shares his journey, teaching methods, and insights for fellow educators.

Interviewer: Mr. Anand, tell us a little about yourself. What inspired you to become a teacher?

Mr. Rajkumar: I was born and raised in Kalaburagi, where I completed my education in a small school here. My biggest inspiration has been my mother—she taught me valuable life lessons that helped me navigate various challenges. Teaching isn’t just about completing the syllabus; it’s also about instilling ethics and social values in students. That’s something I always keep in mind while teaching.

Interviewer: You teach Science and Physics. What’s your approach to making these subjects interesting?

Mr. Rajkumar: Science is all about understanding concepts, and I believe students grasp concepts better when they can relate them to real life. Take, for example, the first chapter on motion—I don’t just explain theories; I use everyday examples like moving cars, trains, or even people walking. When students see science in their surroundings, they understand it better and remember it longer.

Interviewer: How do you guide your students in choosing their career paths?

Mr. Rajkumar: Earlier, we used traditional test papers to evaluate students before giving career guidance. But Class Saathi has made things much easier. I can quickly analyse each student’s strengths and weaknesses with assessments and quick reports. This personalized approach helps me guide them in a more effective and focused way.

Interviewer: How has Class Saathi helped in your daily teaching?

Mr. Rajkumar: It has truly been a game-changer! The Saathi Genie feature is my favourite—it lets me create surprise tests quickly, saving me a lot of time. Assessments are no longer a burden, and I can focus more on teaching.

Interviewer: What are some challenges you face as a teacher, especially during exams?

Mr. Rajkumar: Ah, exam time is always hectic! Students flood in with last-minute doubts, expecting full-chapter explanations. The tricky part is that, as a teacher, it’s nearly impossible to give one-on-one attention to every student right before an exam. However, in the Class Saathi students’ app, students can practice regularly, reducing last-minute pressure.

Interviewer: Any advice for fellow educators?

Mr. Rajkumar: Honestly, I don’t see myself as a "teacher" yet—it’s only been three years in this profession. But if there’s one mantra I live by, it’s "Be a learner first, then only you can be a good teacher." Teaching is a continuous journey of learning, and I strive to improve every day.

Mr. Anand Rajkumar’s dedication to making learning engaging and ethical is truly inspiring. His approach aligns perfectly with Class Saathi’s vision of making education interactive and insightful. Stay tuned for more inspiring stories in our Shine with Class Saathi campaign!
