Age Criteria for Admission

School heads may grant an age relaxation of up to one month (upper or lower limit) upon receiving a manual application from parents.
Documents Accepted as Proof of Residence
Parents can submit any of the following documents as proof of residence:
- Ration Card/Smart Card in the name of parents (Mother/Father) with child's name
- Domicile certificate of the child or parents
- Voter ID Card (EPIC) of any parent
- Electricity bill, MTNL telephone bill, water bill, or passport in the name of any parent or child
- Aadhaar Card/UID card issued in the name of any parent
Important Notes on Admission Process
The DoE clarified that private schools cannot manually process admissions for students under the EWS/DG/CWSN free-ship categories. Instead, these admissions will be handled by the department through a computerized draw of lots.
