Class Saathi’s 5-Year Plan is to Save Schools Over ₹10 Lacs
February 26, 2021

As per reports published by UNICEF, India has 1.5 million schools, 8.5 million teachers and 250 million students in its Education System.

At first glance, these numbers may seem overwhelming. Given the population of the country, especially the youth population of the country, it is only obvious and admirable that more and more students are entering the education system.

However, this doesn’t mean that we overlook the burden it places on an already stressed education system with limited funding.

At TagHive, we spent a great amount of time thinking about these numbers. We decided to intervene and offer solutions by simplifying one very important process in education that carries a great amount of cost and administrative burden - assessments.

To strengthen our claims, we did a simple cost-benefit analysis to show how Class Saathi, our assessment platform can help the education sector save much needed money and time.

Any assessment has 4 major steps:
1. Preparation of Questions → 2. Printing → 3. Administering Test → 4. Checking the Test

In the traditional pen and paper method of assessment, our calculations (table below) show that a school would spend ₹1194 per student every year. Whereas, with the Class Saathi model, a school would spend ONLY ₹30 per student for the 1st year and ₹20 per student every year after that, as each clicker would cost a very menial sum of ₹10 which is a one-time investment cost incurred by schools in the first year of installation.

For a school size of 200 students, a school would save ₹11.7 Lacs in 5 Years. On top of that, the schools become smart, learning outcomes get measured and managed on a regular basis and parents also get involved in the student’s learning journey. (See how Class Saathi connects all stakeholders).

Money saved is just one big advantage of using Class Saathi. Through our assessment model, we are also freeing up time teachers can use to facilitate learning interventions based on what these formative assessments reveal about each.

It is only a bonus that we are helping schools save money. We understand the value of what saving money can mean for educational institutions operating under various developmental issues and we have made it our priority to help schools and administrators save all that they can while also facilitating meaningful learning interventions for their students.

The data snapshots below represent the cost analysis we tabulated for the sake of this study.

At TagHive, we truly believe that less is more. By that we mean, we make educational institutions spend less on assessments so that they can save more!
