The Directorate of Education (DoE), Delhi, has released the admission schedule for entry-level classes—Nursery, KG, and Class 1—for the academic year 2026-27. Admissions for open seats will start from December 4, 2025. Age Criteria for Admission

School heads may grant an age relaxation of up to one month (upper or lower limit) upon receiving a manual application from parents.

Documents Accepted as Proof of Residence

Parents can submit any of the following documents as proof of residence:

  • Ration Card/Smart Card in the name of parents (Mother/Father) with child's name
  • Domicile certificate of the child or parents
  • Voter ID Card (EPIC) of any parent
  • Electricity bill, MTNL telephone bill, water bill, or passport in the name of any parent or child
  • Aadhaar Card/UID card issued in the name of any parent

Important Notes on Admission Process

The DoE clarified that private schools cannot manually process admissions for students under the EWS/DG/CWSN free-ship categories. Instead, these admissions will be handled by the department through a computerized draw of lots.
