In this candid interview, we dive deep into the journey of Piyush Agarwal, a remarkable individual whose resilience and determination have shaped his path from adversity to achievement.
Interviewer: Piyush, thank you for joining us today. Let's start from the beginning. Can you share a bit about your upbringing and the journey from the beginning?
Piyush: Absolutely. I come from a humble background, raised in a middle-class family. Unfortunately, I lost my father at a young age, which was a turning point in my life. We relocated to Rajasthan to be with family, and that transition marked a significant shift in my education and environment.
Interviewer: That sounds like quite a journey. How did you navigate these changes, especially in your education?
Piyush: It was a period of adjustment. Moving from a nuclear family to a new town and a boys' boarding school was quite a shift. Despite the challenges, I remained focused on my studies and excelled academically, earning good grades throughout.
Interviewer: Your dedication is commendable. Did you always know what career path you wanted to pursue?
Piyush: Initially, I considered following in the footsteps of my family members who were chartered accountants. However, after some introspection and advice from my cousin, I realised that I wanted a path where hard work, not luck, determined success. That's when I decided to pursue engineering, driven by my fascination with technology.
Interviewer: It's inspiring to see how you have charted your course. How did you overcome the setbacks and challenges along the way?
Piyush: Persistence was key for me. Despite not achieving my initial goal of landing in the top college, I continued to push myself. Even setbacks like missing out on the top ranks in exams only fueled my determination to work harder. I took on a challenge to be the best in his college and aimed to go to France for exciting projects. Henceforth, I started with tutoring roles saved enough to seize the opportunity for growth, and refused to let adversity define my future
Interviewer: Your journey is a testament to the power of perseverance. Can you share more about your professional experiences and how you landed at TagHive?
Piyush: During my time in France, I worked on voice-based skills for major companies in laboratory settings. Alongside my professional growth, I also enjoyed adventurous trips and exploration in France and its neighbouring areas. After returning, I secured my first job through campus placement and worked for nearly a year. Seeking further professional development, I joined Coding Ninja to refine my programming skills. Though offered a teaching position, I opted to work as a teaching assistant while actively pursuing full-time opportunities. This led me to BankX before eventually discovering TagHive through a LinkedIn post by Pankaj sir, the founder of TagHive which piqued my interest. The interview process was challenging, but I saw it as an opportunity to grow. I had my initial doubts about how I would work with the Korean team. On the contrary, I found immense support from the TagHive team, especially during challenging times like the pandemic.
