Meet Mr. Nazeer Gorinaik, an English teacher at Kumareshwar English Medium High School, Saundatti. His journey is a testament to perseverance, passion, and the power of education. In this exclusive interview, he shares his challenges, teaching strategies, and how Class Saathi is making a difference in his classroom.
Interviewer: Mr. Gorinaik, your journey is truly inspiring! Could you tell us about your early struggles with English?
Mr. Nazeer Gorinaik: I come from a small district in Karnataka and I studied in a government school till the 10th standard. English was a huge challenge for me, especially grammar. I often struggled and was even mocked at times.
But instead of giving up, I turned my weakness into my motivation. I carried an Oxford pocket dictionary everywhere, even while working, and made it a habit to learn 60 new words every day!
Interviewer: You initially wanted to pursue Science. What made you choose teaching as a career?
Mr. Nazeer Gorinaik: Yes, Science was my passion, but due to family challenges, I had to opt for Arts. However, my hunger for learning never stopped. While working, I pursued correspondence courses and later completed my B.Ed in English—the subject that once scared me the most!
Teaching English was not easy initially. Speaking in English fluently in the classroom was a challenge, but I kept pushing myself.
Interviewer: That’s incredible perseverance! How did you overcome personal challenges while chasing your dreams?
Mr. Nazeer Gorinaik: One of the toughest times was when my mother was paralyzed. Managing work, studies, and family was overwhelming. But I stayed focused on my goals.
Eventually, I became an English teacher at Kumareshwar English Medium High School, and seeing my students excel brought me immense satisfaction. It made me feel that all the struggles were worth it!
Interviewer: Your students seem to love your teaching methods! Can you share some of your strategies?
Mr. Nazeer Gorinaik: I believe in making learning fun! I create my own teaching techniques to help students grasp concepts easily.
One of my most viral strategies for teaching the article "The" is BROADMAP—a simple and engaging way for students to remember its usage.
Besides school, I’ve also started a pre-school called "Brain Bunny", where I focus on early childhood learning. I strongly believe that education should be exciting from the very beginning!
Interviewer: You are also active on YouTube. What inspired you to start your channel?
Mr. Nazeer Gorinaik: It was actually one of my students! Back in 2017, he gave me his father’s mobile phone and encouraged me to start.
Many of my students, including Nandish, and Pritam helped me learn video editing, create thumbnails, and even remove background noise. It was a student-teacher collaboration!
Nandish was also the one who used to be the most excited for Class Saathi. He would eagerly ask me, "Sir, shall we start Class Saathi today?"
Interviewer: That’s amazing! How has Class Saathi impacted your teaching?
Mr. Nazeer Gorinaik: Class Saathi has been a game-changer! The Genie feature is my favourite—it gives accurate explanations for answers, saving me time in class.
Traditionally, teachers spend a lot of time teaching, conducting tests, and checking papers. But with Class Saathi, the instant quizzes and leaderboards boost engagement and make assessments effortless.
In today’s world, most students rely on tuition and coaching classes. But if every school implements Class Saathi, students won’t need extra tuition—they’ll get all the support they need in the classroom itself!
Interviewer: What advice would you give to fellow teachers?
Mr. Nazeer Gorinaik: A teacher should always be like a teapot—empty yet ready to fill with new knowledge.
If we limit ourselves to just the curriculum, we fail to nurture true wisdom in students. Be open to learning from your students. Many times, they become our best teachers!
Mr. Gorinaik’s journey is a reminder that learning has no limits and teaching is a lifelong process. His passion for education and innovative teaching techniques are truly inspiring. We at Class Saathi salute teachers like him who make learning meaningful and fun!
