Interview

Interviewer: Shilpa Ma'am, what inspired you to become a Kannada teacher?

Mrs. Shilpa: From childhood, I've always had a deep love for Kannada. Witnessing the decline in interest for regional languages, I felt a strong desire to preserve and promote Kannada. I wanted to make learning this beautiful language engaging and enjoyable for students.

While Mathematics is my specialisation, I find great joy in teaching Kannada. I believe that all languages have their own unique beauty and importance. By incorporating innovative teaching methods and making the subject relevant to students' lives, I've been able to create a love for Kannada among my students.

Interviewer: What challenges do you face in teaching Kannada to today's students?

Mrs. Shilpa: One of the biggest challenges is the overprotective nature of modern parenting. This can hinder students' overall growth and development. Additionally, the diverse student population in today's classrooms can make teaching language a bit more complex, especially when dealing with students who are unfamiliar with the language.

Interviewer: How do you address these challenges in your classroom?

Mrs. Shilpa: To overcome these challenges, I've implemented a few strategies. I create a supportive learning environment by grouping students based on their language proficiency. This allows students to learn from and support each other. For those who struggle, I provide dedicated attention and additional support.

Interviewer: What advice do you have for other teachers who are passionate about teaching regional languages?

Mrs. Shilpa: I believe it's essential to make learning engaging and relevant. Use innovative teaching methods, incorporate technology, and create a positive learning environment. Encourage students to explore the beauty of the language through literature, poetry, and cultural activities. Remember, every student is unique, so tailor your teaching approach to meet their individual needs.

Interviewer: How has Class Saathi impacted your teaching experience?

Mrs. Shilpa: Class Saathi has been a game-changer for me. The interactive features and real-time feedback have made my lessons more engaging and effective. I can now track student progress, identify areas where they need additional support, and tailor my instruction accordingly.

Mrs. Shilpa Siddu, the Kannada Language Champion, is a true inspiration to educators everywhere. Her dedication, passion, and innovative teaching methods have made a significant impact on her students' lives.
